Riso Comics
What is RISO? Here's a link to a more thorough explanation, but it is essentially an office printer/silkscreen hybrid. Each color is drawn and created separately and then fed into a machine that burns a master cylinder for that color. Once all of one color is done printing, the process is repeated with the next color and so on. The multiple printing passes can sometimes lead to alignment issues that contributes to its distinctive look.
I created Brother Crow #3 at Outlet PDX using their Risograph machines. the first printing is in orange and blue and the second printing is in Green and rose. Each print run is limited to 50 and are hand numbered and signed. The story is the continuing adventure of Danny Del Rios and Amanda Lazarus. No need to have read the previous issues to enjoy this one of a kind 7"x5" mini-comic.
Less Desolate RISO was created with the generous support of Koyama Provides. These beautiful 7"x5" super-limited Risograph books were printed in Grand Rapids, MI in rose and coral and bound with pink staples by IssuePress
Each book contains 14 alternate or un-included haiku from Less Desolate written by Shin Yu and illustrated by me. I have a few of these available.
